Manchester United Star To Replace Kenan Yildiz As Turkish Youngster Hesitates Over New Juventus Deal
Juventus may be diving into the January transfer market as Kenan Yildiz is yet to sign a new contract in Turin.
Kenan Yildiz is reportedly hesitating over a new deal with Juventus and the Bianconeri have targeted Manchester United star Mason Mount as a possible replacement.
Kenan Yildiz Unsure Over New Juventus Deal
After an impressive start in Serie A this season, Kenan Yildiz has struggled to find form in Turin during recent weeks and many believe the Turkish international has his mind on an improved deal with Juventus.
The 20-year-old has scored just one goal in his last 12 appearances, netting Juve’s third in a 3-1 win over Udinese and taking his overall tally to five goals in Serie A (3G + 2A).
Yildiz started the season with four goals in three league appearances, with many expecting the youngster to continue this form throughout the season – but this has not been the case.
The Bianconeri failed to win eight matches across all competitions under Igor Tudor after winning their opening three league matches, meaning the Romanian was sacked and replaced by Luciano Spalletti.
Juve’s poor run has coincided with the absence of Gleison Bremer, as the Brazilian remains sidelined after a knee surgery – while Bremer has also attracted interest from Tottenham.
Juve’s new manager is reportedly keen on keeping the Brazilian defender and extending Yildiz’s deal in Turin, even though the 20-year-old agreed a long-term contract with the Bianconeri in August 2024.
Recently, Juventus’ CEO Damien Comoli met with Yildiz’s team, as the Turkish star requested a €5-6m salary and this was denied by the Bianconeri board.
This disagreement has alerted sides around Europe, with Arsenal showing heavy interest in the Juventus youngster and Spalletti is now considering possible replacements if Yildiz moves on in 2026.
Juventus Target Mason Mount
Mason Mount has endured a difficult time in Manchester since signing from Chelsea for €67.7m in July 2023, as the Englishman has dealt with an endless list of injuries.
However, the 26-year-old had found some consistent playing-time under Ruben Amorim and the Portuguese manager is a huge fan of the former Chelsea star.
The Manchester United midfielder started in five of the clubs’ opening eight Premier League matches, but has accumulated just 32-minutes in the last three league outings.
Amorim has preferred to utilize the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes, meaning Mount has started to drop down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old’s deal in Manchester does not expire until June 2028, meaning Juventus would have to submit a substantial bid to coax the Red Devils into a sale.
Juventus have been linked with the Manchester United star in previous windows and Spalletti is said to be a huge fan of the former Chelsea midfielder.
Mount’s future will also depend on Kobbie Mainoo’s situation, as the young midfielder is still pushing for a January move away from Manchester after failing to make a single Premier League start this season.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to Serie A, as Mainoo’s agent continues to play a key part in Napoli’s pursuit – meaning Amorim would be looking to keep Mount in Manchester.
United will not be expecting to receive all of the €67.7m they spent in July 2023, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be hoping to recoup around €35-40m if Mount does move on.
