Juan Sebastian Veron Says Inter Are The Favorites To Win The Derby d’Italia On MD3

The Juventus vs Inter showdown is on the horizon as both titans get ready to go toe-to-toe in the Derby d’Italia on Saturday. 

Soccer supporters will be eagerly awaiting the huge clash which will take place at the Allianz Stadium on MD3 of the 2025-26 Serie A season.

And it’s not just fans who are excited about the upcoming showdown. Former Nerazzurri midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron has weighed in with his thoughts about the outcome of the vital match.

Juan Sebastian Veron Predicts Juventus Vs Inter

With Inter reportedly keen to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, the two clubs will leave it all on the field this weekend.

It’s unlikely the Nerazzurri will be able to tempt Juve into negotiations for one of their key assets. But Serie A legend Juan Sebastian Veron believes Cristian Chivu’s side will come out on top.

“Making predictions is complicated, but I see Inter as the favorite, despite the doubts I hear around,” Veron explained to Gazzetta.

“The team has a tried-and-tested structure; they’ve been coming off an important run of results, and to me, they look further along than Juventus. We’ll see.”

Juan Sebastian Veron played in a number of Juventus vs Inter clashes during his time in Serie A. However, which side has the better Derby d’Italia record?

As it stands, the Old Lady lead the way with 113 wins from 253 official matches. Juve also boasts the biggest victory (9-1 in 1960) and won the last league meeting between the pair.

Although Veron is leaning towards a Nerazzurri win, the Bianconeri certainly have history on their side. And Igor Tudor will be hoping to make it win 114 on Saturday.

The Juve boss has started 2025-26 with two wins from two. Another victory on MD3 will put them six points ahead of their rivals with just three games played.

“With only one thought in mind: winning it. You have to imagine a novel, a collection of stories in which everyone can write their own piece of history. It happened to me, and I’m very proud of it.”

The former Sampdoria, Parma and Lazio ace also went on to describe how he loved the buzz of the Derby d’Itali when he used to play.

“What I liked the most was the adrenaline of the event,” Veron said.

“Juventus have always been a prestigious and powerful club. Even when I used to watch Serie A on TV in Argentina, Maradona’s Napoli was fighting to beat them.

“In general, I think that any player, when involved in these big matches, gets more fired up than usual.”
