Kalulu praises Motta: “With him, we can enjoy and express ourselves”

Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu has heaped praise on his manager Thiago Motta, highlighting the freedom and enjoyment the coach brings to the team’s play. In a recent interview following Juventus’ 1-0 home victory against Lazio, Kalulu shared his thoughts with Sky Sport Italia on the team’s performance and Motta’s influence.

When asked about the challenges faced after gaining a numerical advantage, Kalulu acknowledged the opponent’s organization. “They are very organized. Even with 10 men, they didn’t open up, and finding breakthroughs was difficult. However, it’s hard to score against our team; we’re tough to beat,” he explained.

Kalulu’s forward runs during the match were a topic of discussion, prompting questions about Motta’s tactical approach. The defender revealed, “We had prepared several situations to create two-on-two scenarios. When we attack, we’re all attackers, and when we defend, we’re all defenders.”

The French defender was particularly enthusiastic about Motta’s coaching style. When asked what he appreciates most about his manager, Kalulu responded, “In training and during matches, we must give our maximum, but we can also enjoy ourselves and are free to try different actions. This is what I like the most – we can all express our football.”
