Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor has emerged as a summer transfer target for Antonio Conte’s Napoli side.

Taylor is one of a number of players Conte and his staff are monitoring. The Italian boss will send scouts to the Netherlands in the new year to provide an update on his progress.

Having come through the Jong Ajax academy, Taylor is considered one of the Eredevisie’s finest talents. This season alone, the 23-year-old has chipped in with six goal contributions in 14 league appearances.

Kenneth Taylor Transfer News

Although Napoli are pursuing Quinten Timber, the Serie A champions main midfield target for next summer is compatriot Kenneth Taylor.

Timber has similar traits and attributes to Taylor but head coach Antonio Conte believes the latter has the ‘X factor’ to help take I Partenopei to the next level.

In fact, Conte knows just how in-demand Taylor will be over the coming months. In particular from league rivals Roma. Last season, the Giallorossi made inquiries but were put off by Taylor’s high price tag.

The Dutchman has been identified by Porto as well. Their derisory offer was quickly shut down by Ajax in the summer. With Taylor considered one of the best box-to-box midfielders in Europe, interested parties will need to cough up.

How Much Will Kenneth Taylor Cost Napoli?

It’s likely that Ajax will enter into negotiations if they receive bids in the region of €25-30million. That of course, would all be profit from the Dutch giants perspective.

With the latest Kobbie Mainoo transfer update still slightly unclear on whether he’ll go to Naples, Antonio Conte can fully focus on acquiring funds to land Taylor.

In fact, Mainoo would only be drafted in on a six-month loan with no option to buy anyhow. Purely because Manchester United don’t want to lose the midfield ace on a permanent deal.

Even though the Scudetto holders will have to wait for Taylor, FootItalia understands that Naples is his preferred destination. Especially as he’ll get to play alongside idol Kevin De Bruyne and 2025 Ballon d’Or nominee Scott McTominay.

Napoli’s Midfield Targets

With Kevin De Bruyne starting rehab after he underwent the knife for a serious thigh injury, Napoli’s need to add further midfield recruits has heightened considerably.

Even more so with Frank Anguissa and Billy Gilmour also on the treatment table. The latter will return in a month but Antonio Conte is keen to land Kobbie Mainoo as his No.1 target.

The likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini, Matteo Guendouzi, Leon Goretzka and Morten Frendrup are all viable solutions. However, Conte may be forced to go to the board and demand the funds for Kenneth Taylor a little bit sooner than expected.
