Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners confirms that he has asked the club to sell him this summer. The Dutchman has been one of the most consistent performers in the 2023-24 season, scoring 12 goals in 34 appearances for La Dea across all competitions.
Speaking with De Telegraaf (via Il Corriere dello Sport), the 26-year-old confirmed that he is looking to move on when the current campaign ends, saying:
“Already last year, there was concrete interest from Napoli, but in the end, the clubs didn’t reach an agreement. I’ve told Atalanta that I want to move on next summer. However, something really interesting must come up to leave Bergamo.
“My girlfriend and I are enjoying ourselves a lot in Italy, but for some clubs in England, I’ll even put up with the rain. I hope there are options that I can consider. And then, I hope Atalanta receives a good sum for me because I’ve had a wonderful time in Bergamo.
“I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t heard about a possible interest from Juventus and Premier League clubs. Of course, I read about them or they are forwarded to me.”
