IlBianconeri confirm that Motta’s decision to replace Koopmeiners was not based on any tactical considerations. Instead, it was revealed that the player had experienced discomfort in his rib area – an issue that had previously surfaced during the Champions League match against Leipzig.
As a precautionary measure, Italian midfielder Fagioli was brought on to replace him.
