A report from Italian newspaper La Repubblica claims that FIGC prosecutor in the capital gains case will ask for paperwork related to Napoli’s purchase of Victor Osimhen. Juventus have already been sanctioned and a 15 point penalty imposed, but the report suggests that FIGC prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné is now focusing on the Partenopei.

La Repubblica (as reported by Napolipiu) write that in the case of the Bianconeri, the Prisma investigation by the Turin prosecutor’s office allowed the case on Juventus to be reopened with a ruling that has already become final. This is because new evidence was found to support the accusation. “Self-accusatory statements” are carved out through the means of ordinary justice. Without it, it is almost impossible to target a club.

For this reason, prosecutor Chinè will ask the Naples Public Prosecutor’s Office for the details of the false accounting investigation involving Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

It’s yet to be seen if the investigation will lead to a similar verdict to Juve’s, however the Osimhen deal with Lille raised question marks as it included the transfer of four relatively unknown players – Orestis Karnezis, youth team players Claudio Manzi, Ciro Palmieri and Luigi Liguori – who were valued at €20-30m.

The deal raised eyebrows as none of the four ever played for Lille and eventually had their contracts terminated by mutual consent, allowing them to walk away as free agents.
