Lautaro Martinez: “After the derby we talked less and worked more”

Lautaro Martinez finally found his scoring touch, netting a crucial brace to lead Inter Milan to a 3-2 victory over Udinese. The Argentine striker, who had gone goalless in the first five Serie A matches, spoke to DAZN after the game about his performance and the team’s response following their derby defeat.

Martinez began by acknowledging the challenging nature of the match: “We suffered a bit, we know the team we were facing. This is always a difficult field for us, but after the derby, we talked less and worked a lot, and I think it showed on the field.”

Reflecting on breaking his goal drought, the forward emphasized the importance of his overall contribution to the team: “It’s important for me because, as a striker, the first thing you look for is to score goals. However, I always say that I work in reverse: first, I work for the team, then if I manage to score, even better. I must continue to work and try to keep Inter at the top. The important thing is that the team must win.”
