As the summer transfer window of 2024 draws to a close, Lazio and Verona are reportedly in discussions over a potential player exchange. The two Serie A clubs are exploring the possibility of a loan swap that could see Davide Faraoni move to Lazio, while either Toma Basic or Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro could head in the opposite direction to Verona.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports how Faraoni, currently at Verona, would be returning to familiar territory if the move materializes. The right-back came through Lazio’s youth academy before embarking on his professional career elsewhere. His potential return to the Roman club could provide additional depth and experience to Lazio’s defensive options.
On the other side of the deal, Lazio is considering offering either Basic or Akpa Akpro to Verona. Basic, the Croatian midfielder, has reportedly already accepted the prospect of joining Verona, suggesting that he may be the more likely candidate for the swap.
