Lazio have announced that Ciro Immobile remains under observation in hospital after his car collided with a tram last night in Rome. Immobile reportedly explained after the incident that the tram ran a red light before smashing into his SUV, which was all but destroyed in the accident.
Lazio have now released their own statement, confirming that the striker is suffering from whiplash and a rib fracture and remains in hospital for the moment:
“The medical staff of S.S. Lazio announces that, earlier today, following a car accident, footballer Ciro Immobile suffered a spinal distortion injury and a compound fracture of the right XI rib.”
“The condition is currently good. The footballer remains under observation at the emergency medicine department directed by Professor Francesco Franceschi of the Agostino Gemelli IRCCS University Polyclinic in Rome.”
