Lazio are preparing for the winter transfer window and are being linked with Lorenzo Insigne and Wilfried Gnonto. The Biancocelesti are keen to reinforce their attacking lineup, in particular on the wings, given that Felipe Anderson’s contract expires in June 2024.
Il Corriere dello Sport report that Lazio have identified Insigne and Gnonto as potential targets, and talks with Insigne’s agents have already begun.
The club are expected to face two immediate obstacles in their pursuit of the former Napoli forward, namely his existing contract with MLS side Toronto FC, which doesn’t expire until 2026, as well as his significant €7m-a-year salary.
The newspaper suggests that Insigne would need to take a substantial reduction in pay in order to make the deal work, however his agents also represent Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto, and have good relations with the Biancocelesti.
Gnonto remains another target for the club, but Championship side Leeds United won’t sell the Italy international for less than €20m.
