Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has officially confirmed that he is leaving the club after 15 years in charge of their transfer market. The former Albanian international forward joined the Biancocelesti as a player in 2005 before retiring there and taking over the directors role in 2008.
Tare was responsible for the transfer deals that bought Luis Alberto, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile to the club, but has reportedly fallen out with coach Maurizio Sarri, prompting a strained relationship with owner Claudio Lotito.
Speaking to TG1, as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Tare announced his departure, saying: “I’m leaving after 18 years, it was an intense adventure. I carry everything in my heart.”
