Lazio’s recent acquisitions, Boulaye Dia and Samuel Gigot, addressed the media in a press conference, offering their thoughts on joining the club and their experiences so far. The duo arrived at the club in the summer and took part in a joint unveiling today, speaking about their first impressions of being with the capital club.
Dia, formerly of Salernitana, began by discussing his debut goal at the Olimpico against Milan: “Scoring at the Olimpico was thrilling. I don’t feel pressure, and everyone should take on their own responsibilities. I’m happy to be here; I’ve found a strong team. Castellanos? I get along very well with him, we can play in various ways.”
The striker continued, reflecting on his past and present: “At Salernitana, I scored 16 goals without setting any limits for myself. The last period was very delicate for me; I’ve never experienced anything like it. The weight of being an important player? I don’t feel it because we all are. I expected the goal against Milan; I work every day for this, and I knew something would happen. I felt the transition from Salernitana to Lazio, both in terms of player quality and training intensity.”
French defender Samuel Gigot also shared his thoughts: “First of all, I thank the club for their trust. I love defending, and Italy has an important school of defense. Nesta and Cannavaro, for example, were the best ever. Baroni? I listen to him a lot; he makes us work extensively on defensive lines. I’ve talked a lot with Guendouzi; from Marseille, we learned to leave the field with a sweaty shirt. In my career, I’ve had many Italian coaches. From all of them, I learned the desire to win and to hurt the opponent.”
