Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes explained the importance of their 2-1 win over Sassuolo: “We really needed this.” It was the Giallorossi’s first away win in four games across all competitions, something Paredes highlighted when speaking with DAZN in the post-match:
“It seemed we had the game in hand, and that we controlled the tempo of the game, unfortunately we conceded a goal that we didn’t expect. But we had a nice reaction afterwards,” said Paredes.
“We wanted to give our response, not only for what the coach said about us in the aftermath of the match with Servette, but also for ourselves, to try to win away from home. A victory awaited us after so many games without winning away from home. We really needed this.”
“It’s very important for us to continue like this, to continue to improve and I think we still have a lot to improve. The most important thing was to win and today we did that.”
