Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani is reportedly considering a €1 billion bid to buy Inter along with Bahrain-based Investcorp. The Nerazzurri have been linked with a takeover a number of times over the course of the current season, with many reports citing owner Steven Zhang’s financial issues, as well as a €275 million credit line that is due to Oaktree Capital Management next year.
Bloomberg report that representatives for Aser Ventures (Radrizzani’s investment fund), Investcorp and Inter Milan declined to comment on the reported offers, but site an unnamed source for Radrizzani’s interest in the Milan based club.
If a bid were to materialise, Radrizzani would first need to sell Aser’s 44% stake in Leeds to the investors behind American football franchise San Francisco 49ers at the end of this season, however the deal is contingent on Leeds retaining their Premier League status.
Radrizzani famously bought Leeds in 2017 when they were a Championship side, eventually guiding them to promotion to the Premier League under the stewardship of Marcelo Bielsa.
