In April, Lorenzo Lucca was being tracked by Arsenal, Atletico and Milan. However, it appears that the trio’s interest cooled and Napoli are now the frontrunners for his signature.
Roma had also shown an interest in Lucca but new head coach Gian Piero Gasperini is reportedly eyeing different suitors in attack.
Other Serie A clubs such as Inter and Juventus were also monitoring Lucca. However, neither side will be rivalling the Azzurri for the 24-year-old.
Lorenzo Lucca 2024-25 Stats
Lorenzo Lucca had his most prolific campaign in front of goal since turning pro aged seven years ago. In 2024-25, Lucca scored 12 Serie A goals for Udinese and netted 14 times across all competitions.
He also chipped in with two assists but did pick up 10 yellow cards throughout the campaign. Something of which Antonio Conte will be wary of if he does come onboard at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Lucca has only been with the Bianconeri for two seasons. His first was a loan deal whereby he registered eight league goals in 37 outings. That convinced the club to sign him whereby he continued to flourish at the Bluenergy Stadium.
What Is Lorenzo Lucca’s Style Of Play?
Standing at 6 ft 7 in, Lorenzo Lucca is an imposing forward who is renowned for his link-up play. He is extremely competent in the air.
Lucca is also very technically gifted and he has the ability to bring his team-mates into the game. Especially from wide areas so crosses can be aimed at him into the penalty area.
Lucca has often been compared to Olivier Giroud and prefers playing with his back to goal. Although not blessed with an abundance of pace, Lucca can move when he needs to.
Will Lorenzo Lucca Join Napoli?
With many US bettors already backing Napoli on the fastest payout betting sites to win the Scudetto again, the Azzurri’s price will certainly shorten if Lorenzo Lucca joins.
According to Sky Sport Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Lucca has already given his approval about transfering to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
All that remains is for Udinese and Antonio Conte’s side to iron out the details over the transfer fee. Something of which is likely to be agreed next week.
