Moise Kean rightly stole the headlines after coming off the bench to snatch the last-gasp, crucial winner on Sunday night, but Solomon was also introduced to devastating effect.

The Israeli winger joined the Viola on loan from Tottenham, who will earn €10million if the move is made permanent at the end of the season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Solomon spent the first half of the campaign at Villarreal, where he scored one goal in his six LaLiga appearances. However, his temporary stay was terminated early.

This allowed him to move to Fiorentina, who remain inside the Serie A relegation zone, three points adrift of safety.

The club had been rooted to the bottom of the table with just one win all season, but Kean and Solomon dovetailed superbly to snatch all three points in Florence and buy more time for the under-pressure Paolo Vanoli.

Despite his rocky start, Solomon made an immediate impact, teeing up the only goal of the game.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 92nd minute, when the 26-year-old floated a devilish ball to the back post. Niccolo Fortini’s header was kept out on the line, but Kean arrived to bundle in from point-blank range.

Solomon was given an initial 25-minute cameo, and Vanoli is likely to ease him further into first-team action.

La Repubblica believe the warm reception from his team-mates represents a ‘new adventure’ for the wideman. They also claim he had been ‘too inconsistent’ in ‘physical and practical use’ over recent months.

“He can give us so much in terms of quality and characteristics,” said Vanoli. “When I called him, I felt he was motivated. We need players like him.”

Manor Solomon Criticism After Fiorentina Move

A host of Fiorentina supporters protested Solomon’s signing due to his stance on the Gaza war. They left scathing comments on the club’s official Instagram and Facebook pages.

This frustration was also echoed by left-wing politician Jacopo Madau, Councillor for Culture in Sesto Fiorentina, a town near Florence.

“You are not welcome in Florence,” wrote Madau. “The arrival of Israeli footballer Solomon has been made official.

“Last or not, anyone who has never hidden their support for [Benjamin] Netanyahu’s genocidal policies is not welcome in Florence and cannot represent our city or Fiorentina.”

However, local representatives of the right and centre-right parties in Florence’s municipal council published a joint statement condemning Madau’s words, describing them as “full of hatred”.

They also demanded his resignation.
