According to reports from France, Italian midfielder Marco Verratti is edging ever closer to joining Qatari team Al-Arabi. The 30-year-old reportedly told PSG bosses that he was looking to leave the club at the start of the summer, bringing to an end a decade with the Ligue 1 champions.
Reports circulated yesterday that Turkish champions Galatasaray were interested in signing him to join their large contingent of former Serie A and Ligue 1 stars.
Footmercato journalist Santi Aouna now claims that PSG and Al-Arabi have indeed reached an agreement for Verratti’s transfer, although there’s no word yet on the agreed fee.
The Qatari side are now looking to convince Verratti to make the move to the Middle East, and according to the report, they are confident of reaching an agreement.
