“Martinez Is not an unknown player”: Marotta discusses Inter’s strategy

Inter Milan president Giuseppe Marotta recently shared his insights ahead of the Coppa Italia match against Udinese. Speaking to Sport Mediaset, he emphasized the importance of learning from defeats, stating, “From defeats, we must always draw positive elements of analysis, criticism, and improvement.” He acknowledged the unique challenges posed by the upcoming match, noting that “We must have the motivation we need to face these dangers.”

Marotta expressed particular interest in Lautaro Martinez’s performance, highlighting that he is not an unfamiliar player: “Well, he is certainly not an unknown player: he had an excellent season with Genoa in Serie A.” He added that this match presents a significant opportunity for Martinez to further establish himself.

The conversation also touched on the growing recognition of Inter’s players in England. Marotta remarked, “It is probably true… our players are certainly appreciated… not only in Italy but throughout Europe and thus also in England.” He noted that despite this interest from other clubs, Inter aims to retain its players: “We are happy with their sense of belonging.”

On the topic of potential transfers during the January window, Marotta reiterated the club’s commitment to maintaining its current squad: “In general, we would like to continue with this group.” He acknowledged that if any player expresses a desire to leave, they would consider it but emphasized that there are no immediate changes on the horizon: “Today there is nothing on the horizon.”
