‘I Love This Club’ – Max Allegri Opens Up On Milan Return And Reveals Target For 2025-26

Start

Max Allegri has revealed his main target for the 2025-26 Serie A season and confessed that he ‘loves’ Milan.

Allegri was speaking at the press conference ahead of the Rossoneri’s clash against Perth Glory on Thursday. It will be the third and final game of their tour of Asia and Australia.

The Diavolo have so far faced Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool. On Saturday, Allegri’s side beat the English champions 4-2 in Hong Kong thanks to goals from Rafael Leao, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Noah Okafor (2).

Last week, Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the game as the Gunners ran out 1-0 winners in Singapore. However, Milan beat the Londoners 6-5 in a pre-arranged penalty shootout.

Max Allegri On Milan Vs Perth Glory

Max Allegri’s Milan side have already arrived Down Under ahead of their clash with Perth Glory at HBF Park. The game will kick-off at 12:30pm CEST (6:30am ET).

I’m proud to be here in Perth, in a beautiful city where I’ve never been before. I can’t wait to visit, experience a new culture, and feel the affection of our fans here in Western Australia,” Allegri explained.

It’s the match that will conclude our tour and this pre-season preparation period. We’ll play in a beautiful stadium against a team that has achieved good results. I expect them to improve in terms of fitness and technique.”

Max Allegri On Why He Returned To Milan

Max Allegri previously managed Milan between 2010-2014. He is still widely regarded as a club legend after landing the Scudetto in his very first season at the San Siro in 2011.

He would also go on to beat rivals Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana final in the same year. The 57-year-old head coach wouldn’t win anymore trophies with the Rossoneri but did finish in the top three on all three of his full seasons with the club.

Rest is nice, but I wanted to return to coaching. I chose Milan because I love this club and I couldn’t say no. I do this job with passion and dedication, and I’m convinced that together we will achieve the goals we’ve set for ourselves.”

Max Allegri On The 2025-26 Season

Although Milan are 6/1 with Serie A betting sites to win the Scudetto in 2025-26, Max Allegri went on to explain he has a more realistic achievement in mind for the upcoming season.

I’ve returned to Milan after 15 years and I’m happy to be here. It will be an important season for us, and we want to return to the Champions League.

Milan is one of the most important clubs in the world and must play in the Champions League.

When you wear this jersey, you feel the responsibility of representing one of the historic clubs, and you always have to give your all.”

Allegri has certainly made a positive impression on and off the pitch since returning to the San Siro. Key players have been lost but new additions have been acquired who are settling in well to Allegri’s methods.

The general feeling among supporters is much more vibrant than last year and with a couple of new faces on board, there is no reason why Milan can’t land a top four finish this season.
