Milan have intensified their pursuit of Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana and have made a first offer to try and secure the midfielder. The Rossoneri have reached a verbal agreement with the 24-year-old French international on a contract worth €3.5 million per season for 4-5 years.
According to Calciomercato, Milan have submitted an initial offer of €12 million plus bonuses to Monaco for Fofana’s transfer. The club is now awaiting a response from the Ligue 1 side, though they are not planning to increase their bid if rejected.
Fofana is eager to join Milan and reunite with his French national team colleagues Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez. The presence of these players at the club is seen as a positive factor in potentially securing the deal.
This move comes as Milan’s new season officially kicks off, with Paulo Fonseca’s introductory press conference marking the beginning of pre-season training. The club continues to work on strengthening the squad for the Portuguese coach.
