Milan make first official offer for Fofana

AC Milan have made their  first official move to acquire Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco, submitting an offer of €17 million. However, Monaco has deemed this offer significantly lower than their asking price of €35 million, despite Fofana having just one year left on his contract.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Milan continue to focus on strengthening their midfield, with Fofana being a top priority. The competition for the French midfielder has intensified, with both Manchester United and Atletico Madrid also expressing interest. Monaco remains firm on their €35 million valuation, but there is a sense that a deal could be reached for a slightly lower amount, though not less than half of the asking price.

In recent developments, an English club, which does not participate in European competitions, has made a higher offer for Fofana. However, the player has expressed a preference for Milan, indicating that he is not interested in pursuing the English club’s offer. Milan, therefore, will need to increase their bid to secure Fofana, especially considering Monaco’s tough negotiation stance.
