Milan have made significant progress in their pursuit of Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic, reaching a preliminary agreement with the player’s entourage. However, negotiations with his current club, Red Bull Salzburg, are still ongoing.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri have offered €20 million for the 23-year-old center-back, but Salzburg is holding firm on their €30 million valuation. This €10 million gap is the primary obstacle in finalizing the transfer.
Pavlovic has emerged as Milan’s top defensive target for the summer transfer window. The club’s sporting directors, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada, have been impressed by the Serbian international’s performances and see him as a valuable addition to strengthen their backline.
In terms of personal terms, Milan has reportedly offered Pavlovic a contract worth €1.5 million per year, more than doubling his current salary at Salzburg. This substantial increase appears to have played a crucial role in securing the player’s agreement.
While focusing on defensive reinforcements, Milan is simultaneously working on bolstering their attack. The club is still pursuing Alvaro Morata, with negotiations expected to intensify from July 15 onwards. Additionally, the Rossoneri have shown serious interest in German striker Niclas Füllkrug, with initial contacts already established.
