AC Milan is preparing to offload striker Divock Origi on a free transfer, marking the end of a disappointing spell for the Belgian at the San Siro. Origi, who joined Milan with high expectations, has failed to make a significant impact, scoring few goals in his first season and none during his loan spell at Nottingham Forest.

Calciomercato report that the club’s management, led by Moncada and Furlani, has decided to facilitate Origi’s departure by offering him as a free agent. This move is not to be confused with a contract termination; rather, Milan is willing to forgo any transfer fee to rid themselves of Origi’s substantial 4.5 million euro net annual salary.

Currently, Origi’s contract impacts Milan’s balance sheet by 330,000 euros. The decision to release him without financial compensation is aimed at saving on his hefty wages. Origi and his representatives are now exploring opportunities in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Major League Soccer.
