Milan striker Christopher Nkunku is reportedly at risk of an early departure from San Siro just months after his arrival.

Milan head coach Max Allegri ‘would like a different striker’

Signed from Chelsea for around €37million plus bonuses until 2030, the Frenchman has failed to hit the ground running at Milan.

He has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri. However, he only has one goal and one assist to his name.

Indeed, Nkunku is yet to get off the mark in Serie A. And his performances have been underwhelming for the most part.

Although Max Allegri recently praised Nkunku in public, it has been reported that things are different behind the scenes.

“Let’s leave aside the investment, I’m talking about a player with extraordinary technical qualities,” Allegri said ahead of the Torino game

“I’m happy with Nkunku and I’m convinced he can do well.”

However, Tuttomercatoweb have reported that Allegri ‘would like a different striker’ in January.

There are several options that could bring him to Saudi Arabia, according to the Italian outlet.

And should Milan receive an ‘acceptable offer’ – namely one that sees them recoup their expenditure – then they will ‘seriously consider it’.

Milan will soon sit down with Nkunku agent Pini Zahavi to assess the situation, according to reports.

And the prospect of an early exit for the former Chelsea man is no longer considered taboo.

Either Nkunku finds form quickly, or Milan will surely cut their losses far sooner than anyone imagined.

Who could replace Christopher Nkunku

TMW reported that Milan are looking to bring in a new striker regardless of what happens with Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez.

Gimenez is not looking to leave the Rossoneri. However, it remains to be seen what the club decides to do.

In terms of potential replacements, Milan are looking at Lorenzo Lucca of Napoli, according to reports.

It is worth mentioning that Zahavi is also the agent of Robert Lewandowski, who has been tipped to leave Barcelona next summer.

Lewandowski could further reshape the Rossoneri attack and make Nkunku’s exit even more plausible.
