Former Roma sporting director Ramon Monchi admits he made mistakes during his brief time with the Giallorossi. The 54=year-old spent just under two years with Roma before returning to Sevilla, and speaking with Il Messaggero, he touched on the turbulent period during his time in Rome:
“I tried to do my best but it’s true that I made mistakes, I’ve never had a problem admitting my mistakes but you also have to understand the context.”
“This season I was wrong in Seville too, but in Andalusia I have a history of 24 years with 19 finals and 10 trophies that make me go out quietly in the evening when I have to take my two dogs for a walk.”
“In Rome I didn’t have time to correct my mistakes. When I arrived people thought that in addition to signing the players I would score and save penalties… But the responsibility is mine. Looking back there would be so many things I wouldn’t do anymore.”
