Jose Mourinho reportedly contacted Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti to convince him of making a move to Roma. Previous reports had linked Verratti with a switch to the capital club amid rumours he has grown disillusioned with PSG.
Corriere della Sera now report that Mourinho personally contacted Verratti to discuss the possibility of him making the move to Roma this summer. The newspaper state that the Portuguese tactician is ‘determined’ to convince the Italy midfielder of making the switch to Rome.
The biggest obstacle to any potential remains the 30-year-old’s high wages which is a reopped €12m a season, a figure that may be too steep for the Giallorossi.
Despite that, relations between the two clubs remain positive, and Roma could offer a potential loan deal with an option to buy included.
