Premier League Giants Increase Scott McTominay Pursuit As Napoli Star Scores Again
After a superb header against Copenhagen, Scott McTominay has been targeted by a host of Premier League sides.
Scott McTominay is being monitored by several Premier League sides after the Scotsman scored in Europe once again.
Napoli Held By 10-Men Copenhagen
The Partenopei suffered a disappointing result in MD7 of the Champions League, as Napoli were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Copenhagen on January 20th.
Antonio Conte’s side were handed a major boost after 35-minutes, as Thomas Delaney received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Stanislav Lobotka.
Napoli made the most of their numerical advantage just three-minutes later through Scott McTominay, as the Scotsman rose highest to head Eljif Elmas’ corner home.
This was McTominay’s ninth goal across all competitions and his fourth in the Champions League, as the former Manchester United star continues to impress under Conte.
Although Napoli held an advantage numerically and on the scoreline, it was Copenhagen who looked more likely to score and the hosts were rewarded after 70-minutes.
Alessandro Buongiorno tripped Mohamed Elyounossi in the area and the Copenhagen star saw his spot-kick saved before placing the rebound into the back of the net.
The final chance of the match fell to Napoli, but Lorenzo Lucca was unable to find the target from close range and Napoli left Denmark with a singular point.
The Italian’s finish showed signs of a player lacking confidence, as the Italian has struggled to adapt to life in Naples since joining the club in the summer and Lucca has been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest.
In contrast, McTominay’s performance showed signs of a player that is at the top of their game – but the Scottish international has also been rumored with a move to England.

Scott McTominay To Make Premier League Return
McTominay parted ways with Manchester United in the 2024/25 summer transfer window and has gone on to become one of Napoli’s most important players.
The Scot picked up a league title in his opening season, while also clinching the Serie A MVP award and his performances have stunned fans across the Premier League.
This change in form has caught the eye of multiple sides in England, as Manchester United and Newcastle are both monitoring the 29-year-old.
During the 2025/26 season, McTominay has been one of the highest performers alongside Kenan Yildiz and Nico Paz, with the latter attracting interest from Inter Milan.
Manchester United will have huge regrets over selling the Scotsman after seeing his performances in Italy and the Red Devils could attempt to bring McTominay back this summer.
Michael Carrick is a huge admirer of the Scottish midfielder and the Manchester United boss played alongside McTominay on seven occasions during the Englishman’s final season before retirement.
The United manager could play a pivotal role in bringing McTominay back to Manchester, but the Red Devils will face stiff competition from Newcastle.
Eddie Howe is looking to add some firepower to his midfield this summer and Newcastle have been linked with the Scotsman in previous windows.
