La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic is a step closer to joining Napoli after an agreement in principle was reached. The two sides have been in talks over the winter break to finalise a transfer for the Serbian international, and the suggestion is that the deal is close to being completed.
Gazzetta claim that club presidents Aurelio De Laurentiis and Giampaolo Pozzo broached the subject of Samardzic once again, and ‘said goodbye with an agreement in principle having been reached.’
The newspaper states that ‘today the transfer will take place, the agreement in principle is reached.’ The Bianconeri will be guaranteed to collect €20 million, an amount that could be paid in full at the time of purchase or perhaps €2-3 million could be paid at the end of the season through bonuses that are very easily activated.
The latest conversation with Mladen, the player’s father who looks after the player’s interests, also proved particularly productive. In the past few hours, the question of the image rights has been almost completely resolved; only the midfielder’s wage remains to be defined.
The distance between the initial proposal of €2 million plus bonuses and the request for a total of around €3 million can easily be bridged.
