Napoli are already open to offers for Kevin De Bruyne – just seven months after signing the superstar.

Kevin De Bruyne Napoli Future In Doubt

The 34-year-old moved to Naples in June after being told his Manchester City contract would not be extended.

He made an immediate impact, scoring four goals and registering two assists in his first 11 appearances. However, De Bruyne sustained an injury while scoring against Inter Milan in October and required surgery.

As he works his way toward a much-awaited return, speculation is building that his future under Antonio Conte is now in doubt.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli would consider any significant offers from Saudi Arabia. Clubs from the Middle East are said to be ready to act quickly to sign De Bruyne despite his current fitness woes.

Crucially, the player himself is also open to exploring other options despite impressing during his brief stay in Italy.

The upcoming World Cup is said to be weighing on his mind, with the tournament set to be his last with Belgium. De Bruyne, therefore, wants guaranteed playing time in the build-up to the showpiece.

The playmaker, desperate to avoid another untimely injury setback, is determined not to rush his return to avoid another injury setback. He may well use his time on the sidelines to reflect on his next destination.

Clubs in the United States could also mount an ambitious approach over the coming weeks.

De Bruyne, of course, rejected MLS outfit Chicago Fire during the summer, opting for Napoli instead. He was keen on remaining at the highest level and was enticed by the prospect of working under Conte.

Marseille were interested, too, but their formal approach came too late.

When Kevin De Bruyne Will Return

De Bruyne is set to return to Napoli in the next week, as initially planned during discussions over his rehabilitation.

Scans had revealed a high-grade tear to his bicep femoris, a muscle at the back of the thigh. He successfully went under the knife in Belgium before commencing the first phase of his recovery.

Napoli did not put an exact timeframe on when to expect his comeback, but De Bruyne has progressed well. He is now able to move without his crutches and will shortly step up his work back in Italy.

Corriere dello Sport estimated he would return between February and March, while Calciomercato have reported he will not be available for another couple of months – a significant blow in the club’s Scudetto bid.
