Napoli’s Victory Over Atalanta: Conte Reflects on Team Growth and Future Plans

Antonio Conte celebrated a thrilling 3-2 victory for Napoli against Atalanta, a crucial match that solidified their position at the top of the Serie A standings. After the game, Conte shared his thoughts with Sky, emphasizing the growth of his team despite facing challenges. He remarked, “To cause trouble is already doing something more; you say everything and say nothing. This is a team that has grown a lot.” He recalled that just two and a half months ago, Atalanta had defeated Napoli 3-0 at home, highlighting the team’s significant progress since then.

Conte acknowledged the difficulties posed by injuries and market uncertainties but praised his players for their resilience: “We are moving forward despite the difficulties of injuries and the transfer market, which could take down an ox. Instead, we don’t complain and work hard; for this, I thank the boys.” He believes that the team’s fortunes are tied to their continuous improvement.

With the recent departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Conte was asked about potential moves in the transfer market. He stated, “I leave the decision to the club; I don’t get involved in that. If they ask me for something, I will give my opinion.” He expressed caution regarding signing young prospects without a clear plan: “Young prospects for what? If we need to do something, we must do it in the right way as God commands; otherwise, we stay with these boys and move forward like this.”

However, he remains confident in his current roster: “Simeone and Raspadori always give their all; they are all important. We may not be many, but we are right and hungry.
