The latest Neymar transfer news has revealed that a move to Juventus has been encouraged by Gleison Bremer.
The Brazilian legend currently represents boyhood club Santos. Despite penning a new deal with Peixe until the end of 2025 with an option to extend by a further six months, tensions have emerged between club and player.
Injuries, a needless red card, altercations with supporters and Santos’ dire form have meant that Neymar’s time at the Urbano Caldeira Stadium could be coming to a premature end.
Neymar Transfer News
With Juventus priced at +500 to win the Scudetto this season on Serie A betting sites, their chances of lifting a 37th title could somewhat be increased if a Gleison Bremer gets his way.
The Old Lady centre-back has called for the club to make a sensational move in the transfer market. Bremer admitted via Gazzetta dello Sport that it would be ‘great’ to have Neymar on board.
“A last dance for Neymar at Juventus? Of course! It would be great to have someone like Ney in Turin,” he said. With veterans such as Luka Modric and Kevin De Bruyne transferring to Italy this summer, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility for Neymar to follow suit.
However, a number of factors would come into play. Dusan Vlahovic being sold would be a necessity. And other fringe players such as Douglas Luiz to free up necessary funds to justify Neymar’s huge earnings.
How Much Did Neymar Cost PSG?
There’s no denying that Neymar is a global soccer superstar. The Brazilian forward has played with the biggest names in the sport such as Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Kylian Mbappe.
After lifting a plethora of trophies at Barcelona, Neymar truly made the headlines in August 2017 when he transferred to PSG for a staggering €222million.
Unsurprisingly, that was and still is the world record fee paid in soccer to acquire a player. Even his move to Al-Hilal cost €90m. That is still the record in the Saudi Pro League.
If a surprise move to Juventus were ever to come to fruition, the Serie A giants wouldn’t need to pay anywhere near those figures. In fact, it’s Neymar’s vast salary that would be the main stumbling block.
Would Neymar Join Juventus?
If, and it’s a very big if, Neymar did have the chance to join Juventus, it’s likely that he would strongly consider the offer. Especially with tensions increasing at Santos.
Furthermore, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is only ten months away. Therefore, a move back to Europe would provide the perfect platform for Neymar to rediscover his best form.
The main obstacle would be with Santos. Neymar is contracted to the Brazilian club until the end of 2025 but there is the option to extend by another six months.
If the 33-year-old is happy to cut ties with his boyhood club, it creates a snippet possibility that a move to Serie A’s most successful side could become reality. And supporters would certainly welcome the move.
Such a marquee signing would also boost shirt and merchandise sales. It’s a long shot, but one worth keeping an eye on. Especially if the situation in Brazil doesn’t improve. One last dance before the World Cup? It certainly makes sense.
