Nikola Krstovic Stalls on €23m Leeds Move Despite Lecce Agreement as Roma & Juventus Monitor Situation

Start

Nikola Krstovic’s proposed move from Lecce to Leeds United is on hold, despite the two clubs reaching an agreement worth around €23 million.

According to Corriere dello Sport and Pianeta Lecce, the Montenegrin striker has yet to accept the move, keeping the door open for a possible stay in Serie A.

Is Krstovic Going to Leeds?

While Leeds have met Lecce’s asking price, the 25-year-old forward is not fully convinced about leaving Italy. Reports suggest Krstovic has not received the follow-up contact or assurances he expected after initial talks with the Premier League club.

Despite the financial appeal and Leeds’ top-flight status following their promotion, the striker’s preference is to remain in Italy—a league where he has adapted well and gained admiration, even from rival fans.

Roma and Juventus Tracking Krstovic Transfer Situation

Roma remains one of the most talked-about potential destinations, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini reportedly a fan of Krstovic’s physical presence and finishing ability.

However, the Giallorossi are yet to make a formal approach and may struggle to match Leeds’ offer under Financial Fair Play constraints.

Juventus are also keeping tabs on the striker, whose profile fits the kind of athletic, versatile forward the Bianconeri are looking for.

Milan, Napoli, and Inter have also shown interest at various points over the past season, but none have come close to Lecce’s €25–30 million valuation.

Leeds Offer Stands, but Krstovic Unconvinced

Leeds, now under the financial backing of Red Bull, are making bold moves in the market. After failing in a €38 million bid for Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, they’ve already landed Lucas Nmecha from Wolfsburg and Jak Bijol from Udinese.

Strengthening their attack remains a key priority for manager Daniel Farke, and Krstovic is considered a central target.

Still, the former Zeta striker has not committed to a move across the channel. His 11 goals and 5 assists in Serie A last season were vital in keeping Lecce afloat and earned him recognition as one of the league’s most underrated forwards.

Lecce Preparing for Life After Krstovic

Lecce are already preparing for life without Krstovic, having recently appointed Eusebio Di Francesco as their new manager.

A search is underway for a replacement striker, but the club remains hopeful that interest from Serie A sides could yet spark a domestic bidding war if Krstovic rejects Leeds outright.

For now, the Krstovic saga remains unresolved. Leeds has done their part, but the striker’s heart may still be in Italy. If Roma, Juventus, or another Serie A side can come closer to Lecce’s valuation, the tide could shift quickly.
