Turkish giants Galatasaray have officially announced the acquisition of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from AC Milan, providing comprehensive financial details of the agreement. The move, which had been the subject of speculation, has now been clarified with precise figures.
Morata touched down in Istanbul this morning, greeted by enthusiastic fans at the airport before finalizing his transfer. The club, adhering to Turkish football’s transparency protocols, has released a detailed breakdown of the deal’s structure.
The initial phase of the transfer sees Galatasaray paying €6 million to secure Morata on loan until January 2026. This arrangement includes an option for the club to make the move permanent by January 15, 2026, for an additional €8 million, payable in six installments.
Interestingly, the agreement includes a clause allowing Galatasaray to extend the loan until June 2026 if they choose not to exercise the purchase option in January. This extension would require an additional €3 million payment to Milan. Should Galatasaray opt for this extension, the subsequent purchase option would increase to €9 million.
As part of the deal, Morata is set to receive a substantial salary package worth €6 million per season during his time in Istanbul. This figure puts him among the highest-paid players in the Turkish Süper Lig.
