Napoli have officially confirmed the acquisition of Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino on a permanent transfer. The Italian defender’s move to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona has been finalized after days of negotiations and speculation.
Buongiorno, a 25-year-old center-back, has been a rising star in Italian football and attracted interest from several top clubs, including Inter and Juventus. However, Napoli managed to secure his signature, beating out the competition.
The transfer fee is reported to be around €35 million plus €5 million in add-ons, totaling €40 million. This significant investment demonstrates Napoli’s commitment to strengthening their defensive line for the upcoming season.
As part of the deal, Buongiorno has agreed to a five-year contract with Napoli, running until June 2029. The contract includes a release clause worth €70 million, which will become active from July 2027.
