Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini is set to miss the EURO’s after picking up an injury in the final match of the season. The 20-year-old was part of La Dea’s squad for their rearranged league fixture against Fiorentina, with both sides having already qualified for the Champions and Europa League, respectively.
Scalvini was forced to come off in the final minutes of the match, and Sky Sport Italia have now confirmed the extent of his injury.
The Italian talent has ruptured the left anterior cruciate ligament, meaning an extended period on the sidelines. The injury also means he won’t be part of the Azzurri squad for the EURO’s, which starts in Germany later this month.
