Andrea Pinamonti has made a strong return to Genoa after his stint with relegated Sassuolo, already making an impact with a winning goal against Monza in the second round of Serie A. In a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Gianluca Di Marzio), the striker discussed his objectives and aspirations for the season ahead.
Reflecting on his return to Genoa, Pinamonti stated, “The return was as I wanted it, but not as I expected, because it’s never easy to join a new group. Overall, it went much better than anticipated. The negotiation was quite quick, in truth. The club works well.”
Pinamonti has set clear goals for himself this season, particularly in terms of goal-scoring. “I’m setting myself the target of double figures,” he declared. The striker also praised manager Alberto Gilardino’s approach, adding, “Gilardino’s playing style is proactive: it represents an advantage for us attackers.”
Looking beyond his club performance, Pinamonti has his sights set on the national team. “Doing well at Genoa can help me in terms of the national team, an aspiration that one must have, especially for an ambitious person like me,” he explained.
