Andrea Pirlo’s Nicolo suggested that his fathers Juventus side played better football than the current Max Allegri team. The former Juve and Milan midfielder replaced Maurizio Sarri straight after having completed his coaching badges, making Juve his first coaching experience.
Despite his lack of experience, Pirlo led Juve to 4th place in the Serie A table and their 14th Coppa Italia title, but was dismissed as soon as the season ended.
Tweeting after Juve’s victory over Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia, Nicolo wrote:
“The fact remains that last year’s Juve were much better, am I wrong about that too?”
He later added: “However, don’t misinterpret my words, I’m talking about the way we play, not anything else. Juve this year is a great team, respect for the coach and the players!”
He later deleted his Twitter account and claimed it was a fake profile, despite having promoted it on his own Instagram account.
