The Pope Francis tributes have poured in from Serie A’s top sides after the news of his passing on Easter Monday.
Every major soccer game scheduled to take place in Italy was cancelled to allow for a period of mourning. The four top-flight games will now be contested on Wednesday, April 23.
The games in question are Cagliari vs Fiorentina, Genoa vs Lazio, Parma vs Juventus and Torino vs Udinese. All will kick-off at 18:30 CET (12:30 ET).
Pope Francis died at the age of 88 without an exact cause of death via the Vatican. The leader of the Roman Catholic Church had recently been hospitalized for five weeks owing to a case of bronchitis.
Tonight's match against Parma has been postponed until a later date following the death of Pope Francis.

Pope Francis Tributes Pour In From Top Serie A Clubs
All of Serie A’s top clubs were quick to release Pope Francis tributes after his passing on Easter Monday. The 88-year-old made his last public appearance on Easter Sunday.
Juventus released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that read: “Tonight’s match against Parma has been postponed until a later date following the death of Pope Francis. Juventus shares in the condolences of the Pontiff’s passing.”
Milan’s official account read: “Even with a rag ball, you can work miracles.” Like a light, your words will live on in our hearts and guide us for eternity.”
Napoli posted: “With Francis, a man who will be missed by all, not just Catholics, leaves us. Francis was able to convey a sense of kindness, solidarity, and inclusion despite everything. A man who knew how to listen before speaking.”
Inter wrote: “FC Internazionale Milano mourns the passing of Pope Francis, a man of faith, humility and discourse, who touched the hearts of us all.”
Atalanta said: “Atalanta BC are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Pope Francis, a man who embodied international values and a great enthusiast of the sport we all love.”
