Referee Davide Massa could be punishment by the AIA following his performance in Inter’s 3-0 win over Napoli. Massa had a torrid evening with Italian media suggesting he missed a number of incidents in Napoli’s favour.

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri opted not to give a post-match interview following Massa’s performance, with Partenopei director Mauro Meluso speaking choosing to come and speak to the press.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was also fuming at full time and  reportedly complained to both the FIGC and the AIA about Massa’s display in the controversial match.

Calciomercato.com now report that Massa could be punished by the refereeing authorities (AIA) for his performance in the match, with the report suggesting je may not officiate another Napoli match this season.

Replays from the match seemed to suggest a potential foul on Stanislav Lobotka by Lautaro Martinez in the build-up to Hakan Calhanoglu’s opening goal. There was also footage that suggested a penalty should have been awarded to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
