Calciomercato report that the agreement is structured as a paid loan of 5 million euros, without an option to buy, meaning the Portuguese defender, born in 2003, will return to Chelsea at the end of the season.
Veiga, primarily a left-sided centre-back who can also operate as a left-back or in a defensive midfield role, is expected to fill the void left by Cabal rather than Bremer, given his technical characteristics.
With the agreement between the two clubs now in place, Veiga’s arrival in Turin for medical examinations and official announcement is scheduled for Friday, January 24. Once he returns to Enzo Maresca’s squad at Chelsea, Veiga will participate in the Club World Cup in the USA with the London club. Interestingly, he could find himself facing Juventus in that tournament, the very team he will be playing for from this weekend onwards.
