Bryan Cristante has been a cornerstone of AS Roma since 2018, maintaining a consistent presence under managers Fonseca, Mourinho, and now De Rossi. With a contract extending to 2027, Cristante feels firmly established within the club’s project, despite occasional transfer rumors.

Calciomercato report that thile there was mild interest from Juventus in June, the Turin club ultimately pursued other midfield targets. Speculation about Cristante’s potential involvement in a deal for Federico Chiesa seems unlikely, as Chiesa is currently out of Juventus’ plans and there’s no indication of renewed interest from Roma. Some Premier League clubs made inquiries, but nothing substantial materialized. As it stands, Cristante’s future appears to remain with the Giallorossi.

Roma’s Stance:

Cristante has become a senior figure in the locker room and is highly regarded by De Rossi, who praised him back in 2019. However, Roma’s policy is that no player is truly untouchable, and Cristante could potentially be sold if an offer around €20 million were to arrive. After significant summer spending, Roma needs to balance their books through player sales. While a midfielder is expected to depart, Edoardo Bove, valued at around €15 million, remains higher on the list of potential departures.

Impact of Le Fée’s Arrival:

Roma strengthened their midfield this transfer window with the acquisition of Enzo Le Fée from Rennes. As Ghisolfi’s first signing, Le Fée is aiming for a starting position from the season’s outset. The Frenchman has featured prominently in preseason friendlies, benefiting from the absences of Cristante, Paredes, and Pellegrini. Capable of playing in both 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 formations, Le Fée presents a challenge to Cristante’s position. While the former Atalanta player still holds an advantage in the pecking order, he may face stiffer competition for his starting spot this season.
