In a recent turn of events, Zeki Celik’s departure from Roma seems to have hit a roadblock due to complications in the negotiation process. Marseille and Galatasaray had expressed interest in acquiring the services of the Turkish full-back from Roma. However, the potential transfer has encountered obstacles primarily related to disagreements over the transfer’s structure, resulting in the former Lille player remaining with Roma for the foreseeable future.
Sky Sport Italia report that after successfully finalizing the departures of Andrea Belotti and Marash Kumbulla, Roma sought to offload Zeki Celik. Both Marseille and Galatasaray were keen on securing a deal for the talented defender, proposing a loan arrangement with an option to buy.
However, Celik was not open to the idea of a loan move, prompting Roma to explore alternatives. The club attempted to include a mandatory purchase option set at €11 million, but both Marseille and Galatasaray were unwilling to accept such terms. As a result, negotiations reached an impasse, and Celik will continue to be a part of Roma, at the disposal of manager De Rossi.
