The atmosphere around the Stadio Olimpico has become increasingly hostile, with fans expressing their frustration through strongly worded banners displayed outside the stadium.
Two particularly harsh banners were hung near the entrance of Viale dei Gladiatori, where the team bus was expected to arrive. The first banner read: “Players, captain, senators – you are traitors and pieces of s***.” The second targeted the club’s leadership: “President and directors – get out of Rome, you are unworthy and incompetent.”
The situation is likely to escalate further when the players exit the stadium, as the hardcore supporters from the Curva Sud have already left the Olimpico and headed towards the team’s training ground at Trigoria. This early departure from the stadium marks a new level of protest from the fans.
Roma’s recent form has been abysmal, with this latest defeat marking their fifth loss in Serie A and their fourth in the last five matches. The supporters’ decision to abandon the stadium before the final whistle, rather than continuing to whistle and jeer at the players and coach, signifies a deep dissatisfaction with the team’s performance and a feeling that it no longer represents the club’s history and values.
