Roma are ready to issue Nicolo Zaniolo with an ultimatum: to accept an offer from Bournemouth or risk sitting on the sidelines until the summer. The 23-year-old has made his position clear after refusing to be a part of the Giallorossi’s match day squad for their win over Spezia, and has been training alone ever since.
Milan and Bournemouth have both reportedly made bids for the youngster, however the Cherries have met Roma’s valuation of €30m while the Rossoneri are offering closer to €22m.
Corriere dello Sport report that Zaniolo would prefer to join Milan and is considering staying if he can’t get his move, however the rapport between him and Roma is now broken and irreparable.
According to the newspaper, club owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin are now personally involved in the talks with Bournemouth and as a result, the Friedkins have given Zaniolo an ultimatum to either accept the offer from Bournemouth’s or risk not playing at all for the next six months.
Corriere claim that the Friedkins may even be prepared to send Zaniolo to stands for the remaining 18 months of his contract, following his recent behaviour with the club.
