Sacchi: “Inter are stunning, I expect only wonders”

Legendary former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi  commented on Inter Milan’s impressive victory against Lazio, praising Simone Inzaghi’s work and the team’s style of play.

In his analysis, Sacchi stated, “For half an hour, Lazio held their ground, but then it turned into a wonderful monologue by Inter, showcasing all their qualities. Technically, tactically, and physically, after the first goal, there was no more contest.”

He described Inter as “a true powerhouse,” emphasizing that “everyone knows what they must do, how they should move. They all run, help each other, fight, and have the humility to make sacrifices. Then they unleash counterattacks that are incredibly dangerous for their opponents.”

Sacchi believes Inter is “the best equipped team to compete both in Italy and in Europe.” He elaborated on this by saying, “I have been saying this for a while now; they have an extremely solid defense, a midfield that combines determination, creativity, and geometry, and an attack featuring two top-level players like Lautaro and Thuram. Often, they are joined by wing-backs who arrive from behind to finish.”

Regarding their recent performance, he remarked that “this victory, which can be defined as sumptuous without exaggeration, confirms Inter as one of the three most credible contenders for the Scudetto. While there is still a long way to go with many obstacles ahead, from what I have seen so far, it seems that Atalanta, Napoli, and Inter—listed strictly in order of the standings—have something extra compared to the others. In particular, Inter can bring to the table a quality that weighs significantly over time: experience.”

Sacchi noted that Inzaghi’s players are accustomed to big challenges both domestically and internationally. “They know how to handle pressure and demonstrate a continued hunger for success,” he said. He concluded with high expectations: “From a team capable of scoring six goals at the Olimpico against Lazio, we can only expect wonders.”
