Samuel Chukwueze has slammed AC Milan for a lack of opportunities, but the Nigerian is still open to making a return to Serie A.

The Nigerian international is currently spending the 2025/26 season on-loan at Fulham, contributing to six goals in nine Premier League appearances.
Chukwueze joined Milan in July 2023 after completing a €21.1million move from Villarreal and was pushed out of Italy after scoring just eight goals in 70 appearances (all competitions).
Milan have found some success in the Nigerian’s absent, sitting second in Serie A and being strong candidates in Fabio Capello’s Sucdetto prediction.
Although Chukwueze has performed in the Premier League, the Nigerian has made it no secret that he misses the city of Milan and labeled the club as his ‘second home’.
The 26-year-old said: “Yes, I miss it. It’s my second home. My family stayed there, so I miss it. It’s a beautiful city, but everyone has to focus on their own lives. They’re doing well, and I wish them all the best, especially since I’m still a Milan player, since I’m on loan.”
Chukwueze clearly has a huge affection for the Rossoneri and left the club on relatively good terms, but the Nigerian has shown signs of frustration over a lack of playing time in Serie A.
He said: “I think I wasn’t given the time in Serie A and didn’t have the opportunities I wanted. But that’s what happens in football.”
The Nigerian international made 51 appearances in Italy’s top-flight during his time in Milan, contributing to nine goals (4G + 5A) – but was only included in the starting eleven on 21 occasions.
Chukwueze’s move to Fulham is temporary, however, the English side can activate a buy-option for around €30m if the Nigerian continues to impress – but the winger has not shut down a return to Italy.
Nigerian Opens Door To Serie A Return
Although Chukwueze feels that his opportunities in Italy were limited, there is still a chance of a move back to Serie A after the 2025/26 campaign.
The former Villarreal star revealed that his options will be vast in 2026 and the Nigerian highlighted Italy, Spain and England as his primary targets.
Chukwueze said: “I have to keep working hard and maybe I’ll return to Serie A, or LaLiga, or I’ll stay in the Premier League. English tactics are probably better suited to my style of play than Italian ones.”
AC Milan may be looking to sell the Nigerian and obtain the €30m fee, as the Rossoneri prepare to make a host of signings next-year.
The Serie A side have already set a price tag on Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Chukwueze could add further funds to their transfer budget with a move away from San Siro.
Fulham have not confirmed their desire to sign the Nigerian as he is currently competing at the African Cup of Nations, but the Premier League side are reportedly considering the idea of signing Chukwueze permanently.
