Roma have officially announced their fifth signing of the transfer window, Swedish defender Samuel Dahl. The 21-year-old arrives from Djurgarden for a fee of €4 million plus €2 million in bonuses. Dahl, who will wear the number 26 jersey, is set to serve as a backup to Angeliño on the left flank.

Upon his arrival, Dahl expressed his excitement in an interview with the club’s official channels:

“Thank you very much. My first impressions are excellent, I’m thrilled to be here. I want to thank the owners and the club for giving me this opportunity. I feel very fortunate,” Dahl stated.

When asked about his expectations, the young defender replied, “I expect a lot, honestly. This is a club that has a strong desire to win. Naturally, I want to play as many games as possible, help the team as much as I can, and win.”

Dahl also shared his knowledge of Roma: “Roma is one of the biggest clubs in Europe, with a great history, excellent players, and a good coach. It’s a fantastic club that I’ve only heard good things about.”

Describing his playing style, he said, “I’m small, fast, and good with the ball at my feet. That’s what I want to show here in Roma. I want to play with the team and showcase my qualities.”

The Swedish defender expressed his thoughts on working with manager Daniele De Rossi: “He’s a true legend here, I’ve seen him many times on TV. I believe he’ll be a very tactical coach. I imagine he plays attractive football, tactical with movements and geometry. However, it’s an attack-minded style of play.”

Regarding his choice of the number 26 jersey, Dahl explained, “I had number 26 at Djurgarden, my previous team. It’s a sentimental choice.”

As for living in Rome, Dahl shared his excitement: “This is my first time in Rome, I’ve only heard good things. I’m happy to be here. I can’t wait to get to know the city, the club, and of course, to step onto the pitch.”

Dahl concluded the interview with a message for the fans: “Forza Roma!”
