Juventus Prepared to Offer Two Players in Ambitious Swap Deal to Land Sandro Tonali

Juventus have consistently been rebuffed by Newcastle this summer, as they try everything in their power to land long-term target Sandro Tonali. However, the Premier League club’s calamitous search for a striker may force their hand in Juve’s latest approach. 

Is Sandro Tonali Leaving Newcastle?

Juventus have made no secret of their desire to land Sandro Tonali.

The Italian midfielder has been on Juve’s radar since capturing the attention of Italy’s elite in his formative years at Brescia, but their attempts to sign him since have been unsuccessful.

Both AC Milan and Newcastle have managed to beat the Old Lady to his signature, but such is Juve’s persistent desire, that Tonali has never dropped off their wishlist.

Having contacted Newcastle about his situation already this summer — only to be rebuffed by Tonali himself, who ruled out leaving — Juve have prepared to go another season without their dream midfield target.

However, Newcastle’s consistent failures to land their own targets may have inadvertently opened to doors for Juve to make a new, ambitious approach.

The Premier League club have missed out on a slew of players this summer, which has underlined a summer of turmoil in Newcastle. James Trafford, Bryan Mbuemo, Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike, and most recently Benjamin Sesko have all rejected official bids from the Magpies, in favor of moves elsewhere.

As the list would suggest, Newcastle are in the market for a new striker. Their marksman-in-chief, Alexander Isak, continues to revolt as he attempts to force a move to Liverpool, with offshore sportsbooks making him odds-on to leave.

Juventus Preparing Ambitious Double Swap Deal to Land Tonali

Juventus have been alerted to Newcastle dire transfer situation, and believe they have a solution that could benefit both parties.

The Biaconeri have not one, but two ready-made players who both want out this summer, but who could also provide a cure to Newcastle’s problems.

Dusan Vlahovic is widely expected to leave Turin before the start of next season, and as previously interested parties pass up the opportunity to sign him in favor of other strikers, Newcastle are also said to be alerted to his situation.

Elsewhere, Douglas Luiz skipped Juventus’ first training session of the pre-season as he forces a move away.

According to reports, Juventus are prepared to use both Luiz and Vlahovic as makeweight in a swap deal, which would see Tonali go the other way.

Not only would Vlahovic resolve their desperate attempts to sign a striker, but Luiz could also fill the void left by Tonali.

It is likely that Juventus would also have to offer a transfer fee on top of the swap deal, given Newcastle’s hesitancy to let Tonali leave.
