Start

Scott McTominay has confessed that Kevin De Bruyne is an ‘incredible player‘ and will bring ‘so much quality‘ to the Napoli roster this season.

McTominay hailed the signing of the Belgian superstar who is widely regarded as one of the greatest soccer players of all-time.

De Bruyne put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the Maradona Stadium last month. The 34-year-old attacking midfielder will earn a reported €6million per season in Naples.

Napoli are the favorites with the best Ethereum betting sites to retain the Scudetto in 2025-26. The scales were tipped in the Azzurri’s favor owing to the free signing of Kevin De Bruyne in June.

He’s an incredible player and obviously someone who will bring so much quality to the group and for us to have him, it’s amazing,” McTominay told BBC Sport.

Bringing in players of that quality in and that nature is very, very important and we want to kick on again. We don’t want to be content with what we’ve had,” McTominay concluded.

How Many Goals Did Scott McTominay Score In 2024-25?

Kevin De Bruyne may have arrived in Naples with a superstar soccer status. However, Scott McTominay has already earned his place in Napoli folklore.

The Scotland international moved to Antonio Conte’s side from Man United in August 2024. McTominay’s move went somewhat under the radar but his exploits on the pitch sent shockwaves across Europe.

In his maiden Serie A campaign, McTominay netted 12 times and registered 13 goals across all competitions. The 28-year-old also chipped in with six assists as Conte’s men went on to win the Scudetto.

McTominay’s fine form on the pitch earned him the Serie A MVP award. He also won the Player of the Month award for April and Goal of the Month award in May among other accolades.

What Trophies Did Kevin De Bruyne Win At Man City?

When Kevin De Bruyne completed his Napoli switch in June, it was revealed he would earn an eight-figure signing on bonus. A just amount for a player delivering world class performances season after season.

During his ten glorious years at Man City, De Bruyne won a total of 16 major trophies. They include six Premier League titles, five EFL Cups and two FA Cups.

The Belgian superstar was also part of Pep Guardiola’s roster who won the treble in 2023. That earned De Bruyne his first Champions League success. He would also go on and lift the Super Cup and Club World Cup.

From an individual perspective, KDW was named Man City’s Player of the Season on four occasions. He also won the Premier League Player of the season (2) as well as a plethora of other honors.

With the above in mind, it’s easy to see why Scott McTominay is buzzing to have De Bruyne on board.
